Or take on a timed challenge in Word Fever mode, where you will test your speed and spelling skills. Spell the word before the timer runs out, each time you find the word, the timer will reset and you will have to think fast and solve the next word. How far can you go?
Want to test your mind for the duration? In Secret Word mode you will have 3 chances to guess each word with the letters and clue provided. Push your word association skills to the limit, and guess each word before moving on to the next. Guess wisely, 3 incorrect guesses and you will have to start over!

Ad Heavy
Update: latest revamp has increased tournament players from 10 to 25! Disheartening in the UK, waking up to scores from elsewhere in the world up in the thousands, (these people must not go to work for whatever reason), but you have no way of catching up. Can only score enough to maintain a level. Should have an option to not play a tournament without losing your level.
Seems to have an issue where the scores freeze mid tournament. You play and solve the words but the score doesn’t increase for several hours, sometimes too late to complete the tournament. Games are good, but the adverts - too many and so very long, all for other games that you don’t want. Thirty seconds of Candy Crush style rubbish pushed at you between nearly every game. Why not just have an unobtrusive banner at the top that you can either ignore or follow up if you’re interested? Other games manage this way.
Mixed feelings about update
New update is slicker, with better vocabulary. But even after buying the ad-free version I am interrupted with an offer to watch ads if I want to repeat a go (why would I want to do that?) with a delayed ‘no thanks’ option. It slows down the pace of the game and is unwelcome. Other buttons that load up ads are placed right next other function buttons so you can’t help loading up ads by mistake. It’s sneaky and dishonest to do that. Especially when customers have already paid for the ad-free version. I’m one of the customers who download the app initially expecting the online Wordle game, but I also like this game and I respect the approach the developers have taken in giving some of the unexpected revenue to charity. However - a paid-for ad-free version should be ad-free. Please lose the sneaky ad buttons within the game or at least move them out of the way.
Update: Latest update has made things worse not better. Even more ways to trick a player into watching an ad (even though paid for ad-free). Disrupts the game. Not enjoyable. Will now delete it the app. It’s a shame though.
Why use ‘words’ that don’t exist?!
As others have reported, Wordle insists on occasionally using ‘words’ that don’t seem to exist, which is beyond irritating. If Wordle’s own dictionary can’t provide a definition, they why does it use those ‘words’ ? I don’t mind losing to a word that actually exists, but I failed to guess, but to lose because of an apparently non-existent word…😠
Another niggle, being British, is the fact that the dictionary Wordle uses is clearly American. The amount of money the developers must be making, how difficult would it be to provide an English dictionary for British English speakers?
I have also, like many others, paid to get rid of the adverts. The game is so much better without them.
Despite these annoyances, I’m still giving it four stars as I find I play it quite a lot.
