World Table Tennis App 4+

The events calendar isn’t updated. Nothing is shown after an event in Doha in mid-October. If you attempt to access results of the current Contenfer in Taiyuan( looking for Saturday November 11th results on the morning of the 12th) only upcoming matches are shown.
For all its weaknesses the old ITTF website was much better than WTT. It used to be possible to engage with that site too. Since the inception of WTT not a breath of constructive criticism is permitted, a reflection of China’s stranglehold on all aspects of the game.
WTT never stop telling us how successful are their tournaments, to what great heights they have taken the game and so on. It’s great for China and the Middle East no doubt, which is where the money is, but miserable for Europe. We used to have great Workd Tour events EVERY YEAR. The German, Swedish and Austrian Opens, for example, were great events and seat prices for spectators were not unreasonable. Prices at the recent WTT Champions in Frankfurt were double what we are used to with far less matches to watch.
Since the WTT has largely supplanted the ITTF, the ETTU should consider whether it can accept continuing to be sidelined in this way.

As of this date :07/11/21 App is not stable, design is not at all intuitive, streaming has many issues example if you pause broadcast it will not reconnect just black screen. If WTT have made streaming of top table games ( table 1 ) only available through the app or website and not youtube like tables 2-4 then you would think they would ensure the app was at least as usable and quality of youtube. I can see the thought process in making the app but the production and practical use of app is appalling, match times as specified on app hardly ever match up with actual times ( if times are scheduled then keep to those times or put estimated times ) nothing worse than knowing your players match is starting at 14.30 and then turning app on to find the match finished 20 mins earlier. At the same time if waiting for a match start because of timings not as should be then you’ll find the app page doesn’t update while open so don’t bother sitting there waiting for the match you want to watch to start as it will already have started but app hasn’t updated and you’ll have to close page open again and then see they’ve played one set already. These are only some of the major issues with this app, if you think of the worst working app you have on your phone then this will be the comparison.
It would be interesting to find out what the intension of the app is because it seems like the team have wanted to be all things to all people but have only succeeded in creating a big mess.
I must say that some of the graphical works of the app are excellent and that does look premium.
Another good point i can say is there are no advertisements which i will hope would continue.
One last word, if the team that created this app had it quality tested by wtt committee or members of the wtt then i would be surprised it was released as was

For me, the wtt app works perfectly well and is a great improvement from the past. I love the news feed section too.
However my only annoyance with it is in some events it won’t allow me to watch the live stream in the uk, but I don’t think this is a fault with the app
