The Wotwine Wine App is a revolution in getting you better supermarket wine.

Simply select a wine from the supermarket shelf, scan the barcode and get the Wotwine review comparing both quality and price to give you the true value of the wine in front of you. That's it! If the Wotwine price is higher than the shelf price, buy it! You're getting a great-value wine.

Hidden on supermarket shelves are good deals and bad deals. With Wotwine you bypass the supermarket pricing games and always get a great deal.

We're independent and have bought all our wine from the same shelves as you. Our team of wine experts taste wines from 11 supermarket chains (Asda, Aldi, the Co-op, Iceland, Lidl, Marks & Spencer, Morrisons, Ocado, Sainsbury's, Tesco and Waitrose) to give you an independent value and review.

Our team use blind taste testing to review wines and decide what they would be prepared to pay. This is then compared to the wine's retail price to determine whether or not wines are truly great value.

Hope it gets better in time

I love the idea of this app, but have to say that it couldn't find the first 10 bottles of wine I scanned here in the UK, which is somewhat frustrating. I understand that there are perhaps millions of different types and that it can't possibly include 'every wine ever made', but these were mainstream commercial wines sold everywhere so I was a little surprised.
Hopefully the authors will improve their database of wines as the app evolves.
Well, I've tried loads more bottles now from all the major supermarkets, off licences, and even places like Makro & Costco, and I STILL haven't managed to get it to recognise ANY bottle I've tried scanning (and yes, I have updated the database before trying each time).
So far therefore it's been pretty much useless for me. I use an ageing iPhone 4s here in the UK but I don't think that's causing the problem. The app appears to work fine, it just don't recognise the wine (hey...I'm a poet and I don't know it! lol)
Hope it works for me soon as I love the idea of this app...

Needs a DB Update

This works really well if you want to know if a bottle is good value - the barcode scan works well and quickly.
It is absolutely useless if you try actively seeking the best value Wines in UK stores as they aren’t stocked anymore
So reactive check good; proactive search forget it!

Great for not getting a dud

I’m not a big wine expert so rude of bottles is a bit daunting . My old approach was to choose a label that looked good but that’s not always the best way to choose wine -who knew!
Scanning the bottles and reading the reviews had really helped me decide what to buy. I also research wines now.
Being able to sort by price or type is very handy when looking for a value champagne for example. I’ve also got done great bargains.
I also make sure if a bottle is not in their database to submit it.
