Free translator that can work offline and translate text from photos
• Translate between any pair of the 100 languages when you’re online.
• Translate from French, German, Italian, Russian, Spanish, Turkish and other languages to English while offline: download these languages for free and enable the offline mode in Settings.
• Speak words or phrases in Russian, English, or Turkish to translate them into any of these languages, or have the app read the translations to you.
• Learn new words and their meanings through usage examples in the app’s dictionary (available for most of the currently supported languages).
• Take a picture of a menu, road sign, book page or choose a photo with text from your Camera Roll to view its translation right over the image (only available when you are online).
• Translate entire sites directly in the app or in Safari.
• Read books, news, or articles in a foreign language together with Yandex.Translate on your iPad using Split View.
• Read transliterated Arabic, Armenian, Farsi, Georgian, Greek, Hebrew, Korean, Japanese, or Chinese Pinyin.
• Enjoy the app’s time-saving predictive typing function and automated language detection.
• Save translations in Favorites and view your translation history at any time.
• Speak to your Apple Watch to see your words translated on its screen.

Let me start off that I am not working for the makers of this app and I am not getting paid by the developer to write this review. I have tried many similar apps before stumbling across this one. I mainly use it to translate Japanese text from photos and it works perfectly. Unlike other apps it is free and so far it has worked on every photo I have scanned. I am really impressed and recommend this app to everyone. Developers, I salute you.

One of my top translation apps!
Translate from text, photos, screenshots, add it to some social media groups etc etc… The only reason I don’t give it 5* is because, 1) when applied to group chat, the translation comes up in each and every one of the languages spoken on that group, thus multiplying each comment by the number of languages there. Just show it in our main language. 2) The other suggestion is, languages with different characters like Chinese and Japanese etc don’t give you the act meaning of the text, they either show you how it’s written in that language or how it’s pronounced in ours, but of what the words mean, zilch.

Genuinely I don’t write reviews, however this app has impressed me so much with the quality of the translations I felt the need to write this review to show a genuinely great app. Google translate is a joke I’m comparison.
