When it works well, Yodel is brilliant. When it goes wrong (eg courier can’t locate address correctly) it dreadful. There is no quick way of speaking to an agent — just a bot or a tedious chat process that often fails mid-call with no option to reconnect without starting from scratch again with a new agent. If a courier fails to reach the correct address, leaving a card is pointless. The courier should ask for further instruction/advice by telephone. Taking a parcel back to depot adds delay which is useless for perishable deliveries (eg plants). Reporting the problem through the app is useless when the app agent cannot contact the depot! My location is correct on satnav but poses problems in precision due to a mix of House names and House numbers. What3Words is more precise but it’s use by Yodel is not widely known and not routinely collected by senders of parcels. I have now registered my What3Words address on the Yodel app and hope this reduced future problems. I am disabled and housebound so very dependent on home delivery. It is frustrating when organisations retreat behind bots and chat lines to avoid simple phone communication ( but NOT through premium rate numbers, PLEASE!). Yodel is improving but has a way to go.

Yodels app use to be the really good but now it just says your packet will be delivered today it doesn’t give you a time frame which is rubbish. It’s 6.45pm on a Saturday evening I’ve been waiting for my dogs butternut box which is a frozen dog food all day today it says will be delivered today but doesn’t say when and if it’s not delivered today it will be ruined as I can’t re freeze it if it’s been out of the freezer 24 hours which considering it was dispatched yesterday by butternut box to yodal and it’s not yet been delivered if it doesn’t arrive in the next couple of hours it means my dogs food will only be fit for the bin. And at £50 a box I’m far from impressed and I imagine butternut box will not be happy that I ask for a refund or a replacement. Yodal use to be an amazing company but since it was taken over by InPost the delivery side of things needs a vast improvement. I will continue to use the locker service but the postal side I won’t be using which also means unless butternut box finds a better delivery service I’ll need to find a new dog food provider as well as waiting all day with no time frame given and the stress of waiting for a £50 delivery of any kind that not shown up on a weekend when you can’t contact people is just not good enough. Yodal really need to improve this service before they lose all there customers.
Inaccurate delivery dates

Several times now I’ve arranged to be home or arranged to go in to the office, to ensure I’m home for these deliveries only to find the date changes. So all week, since Monday, my app has said the items will arrive Friday. It’s now Weds and as of this morning, the app still said Friday, so I went into work. Then I get a message an hour before scheduled delivery, to say the items were being delivered today. Dashed home, only to find 2 of the 3 deliveries (which were all sent by the same sender on the same day) had been delivered. I contacted customer support - don’t bother ringing as it’s pointless - and spoke to someone on the chat. The first person cut me off. The second person was pleasant but couldn’t tell me when the 3rd parcel was coming. This is the first time this has happened. I never have these issues with Evri or Royal Mail. Delivery drivers are nice but the app itself is inaccurate. At least update people the night before, so they can make plans the following day. Bringing deliveries forward by 2 days and giving only 2 hours notice, I unacceptable. And it was only by chance I knew, because I got an email. I should have been notified through this app really.
Customer experience lets it down

Overall the App itself is fairly easy to use, lets you know when the order is being delivered ect. But with the experience I’m still having, I don’t recommend using yodel at all. I ordered my parcel a week ago from now, and I am still yet to have any update where my parcel is and when it will be delivered. This wouldn’t be such an issue if I didn’t opt for the next day delivery, but considering I haven’t had an update since the app stating “there’s been a delay” my parcels whereabouts i unknown. This is when I contacted yodel 3 times to each have the same response” please allow 48 hours while we track this for you” having waited that long, yodel still can’t seem to find me a correct answer to where my parcel still is. I then had someone tell me to expect to receive a text message with my 2 hour slot option, which I never received. Overall I am still waiting for an update that seems like it will never happen, just wish places such as ASOS wouldn’t rely on yodel as their courier as there are much better, reliable options out there, such as DPD with their amazing track record
We’ve delivered some key updates under the hood of our app to enhance your experience.
