  • Reliable and Straightforward Digital ID App

    James (Brewdog Punk)

Yoti is a good app from an ID and identity verification point of view. It’s simple to set up, easy to use, and does exactly what it’s meant to do without unnecessary complications. Uploading documents is straightforward, and the verification process feels secure and well thought out.For situations where proof of identity or age is required, Yoti works reliably and saves time compared to carrying physical documents. Overall, it’s a practical, modern solution that does the job well and is worth having on your phone.

  • Dutch passport option is greyed out for uber eats background check

    Ali9882

For some strange reason when I tried completing a background check link via sterling’s portal from ubereats onboarding to yoti, it allowed me to pick many other countries on the passport selection list as acceptable for passport verification (norway, albania, afghanistan, pakistan, iraq, belgium, ETC) but not the netherlands (only driving license or residence permit was selectable). Im not sure why that is? I can pick many other countries for passport ID scanning but NOT netherlands in the background check from firstadvantage/sterling link, its almost as if netherlands has purposely been singled out from discrimination against dutch nationality users. As a result its caused signifcant issues with me trying to get biking delivery jobs and its weird because I know I have full right to work in the UK with a settled status, so this should not be happening and its not my fault. The same issue is on the web service too on my laptop, not just the app. Please fix this issue as soon as possible

    Developer Response

Hi, I am very sorry for the frustration this has caused. Please be assured that this is not a matter of discrimination, but rather a technical compatibility issue regarding how our app processes the digital certifications of certain international passports. Alternatively, we recommend contacting your screening company (Sterling or FirstAdvantage) directly. They will be able to provide an alternative verification method to ensure your settled status is correctly processed so you can begin work as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience. ^MS

  • Needs a log in function

    Purple unicorn30

I have recently changed phone and had all the data transferred from my previous phone including the existing apps I had downloaded. For some reason, Yoti has logged me out of my account. There is no log in function which does not make things particularly easy and the only way to access the previous account is to ‘recover my account’. The only way the app can do that on an iPhone is to access the iCloud data which the app already has access to so it is leaving me with no choice other than to create another account. Meaning that I’ll now be on my third account because of an iCloud function is not reliable and the same issue as last time.

  • Unusable for twins and deleted my account without warning!

    AnthonyCoys

I downloaded the app in order to verify my identity for a website and all was well. However the first issue arose when my twin brother tried to use this. They use facial recognition to verify the user but since my face was already verified, it didn’t allow him to create a profile. After a few days of contacting tech support, they said they “fixed” it. However I tried to log in back to my account a day later and they just got rid of my account in order for him to make one without asking me. This means that twins or perhaps even lookalikes cant use the app at the same time.

  • Selling your data to third parties overseas

    Zombymadness

It literally says it in your own information section that you DO SHARE information with third parties yet you still maintain that you’re not data harvesting?Apparently you are either liars or just really really dumb with no understanding of what you’re saying. But if you want your phone number and email to be sold to a scam call centre in Bangladesh then yoti are the people to call. However if you value your privacy and don’t want the British government stealing it, avoid them and this fly by night scam company.0 stars.

    Developer Response

Hi, thank you for your feedback. All information you provide, including your mobile number and email, is used solely to create and secure your account and to prevent account duplication. We do not operate any call centres, and you will never receive marketing emails from us—only emails related to customer support. It’s great to be vigilant online, and we take privacy very seriously. Yoti is not a scam; our goal is to improve the current identity system, which we believe is broken, and to help people protect their personal data. To learn more about how we handle your data and keep it secure, please visit Yoti.com. Best. ^MS

  • Horrendous Support

    FRUITBAT100

I would give 0 stars if I could however, this is not posssible.I found myself unable to access my York account after changing phones even trying to use the recovery file.I then email them as told to do so, I got a reply offering me a video call, which I tried to book, only to find that I have to wait three days for a time slot, however, this has not been confirmed yet.I was told it would be a quick and pain free process to get my account back, which I need to do urgently for an ecitizenship application. However, I don’t feel waiting three days is either pain free or a quick process.Yoti have all my details from my previous ID, which should be able to be confirmed but simple cross referencing with my old application. However, this simple task seems to be too much to ask and this now seems to totally void the idea of ecitizenship being quick and easy with no hassle.I am disgusted at the appointment I have been offered, which are also in the middle of the night. I will not be awake at 3am except in an emergency!!Yoti needs to sort out this procedure post haste if they want to get more good ratings from the actual users and not the businesses that are requesting the information.Everything I need to do is now greatly delayed and will probably cost me a considerable sum, as I will have to pay different fees for another month due to it not being ready by the 1st day of the month. Thanks Yoti and please don’t keep saying that this is a pain free and simple service to use if you can’t back it up with actions.

    Developer Response

Hi, Thank you for leaving a review. We understand that the recovery process after blocking your account is far from ideal. Additionally, you reached out during our busiest two weeks of the year. Normally, if you contact us at any other time, you would typically be offered video call slots for the same day or the following day during UK working hours. Fortunately, in the near future, this process will no longer be necessary. Starting with our next release, coming out this month, app users will be able to release their own biometric template without needing a video call with the Customer Support team. Please let us know if you have any further questions. Thanks! ^MS
