Wish you could climb inside a painting and wander around? Ink, Mountains and Mystery lets you do just that, while solving puzzles along the way.
This beautiful adventure game features a vibrant world loosely based on A Thousand Li of Rivers and Mountains, a classic scroll painting from Chinese history. Its stunning hand-drawn graphics transform these works of art into lush, explorable 3D worlds.
You play as Yixiu, a young monk who sets out to deliver a scroll to a master painter by leaping in and out of the master’s creations. As you progress, bridges over treacherous cliffs are suddenly painted into existence and shifting, shimmering landscapes give the game a dreamlike feel.
Ink, Mountains and Mystery’s controls, however, are much more grounded. Simply tap to move, gather items and interact with the environments.
The puzzles are just as intuitive. They might involve finding hidden objects and figuring out the key moment to use them – an orange maple leaf on a stone stairway, for example, later brings an ailing tree magically back to life.
You’ll perform many spectacular feats in Ink, Mountains and Mystery, but completing the game takes a backseat to simply soaking up its serene atmosphere and mesmerising style. This is truly a painting come to life.
