Your plants really want you to get this app. Planta is for anyone who wants plants in their home, office or garden, but it is especially good for those of us who can apparently kill green things just by looking at them.
To use Planta, you set up one or more sites – the office, perhaps, or the kitchen – and tell the app how much light that particular spot gets.
Then it’s time to add your plants. You can do this by name, if you know what they are. If not, you can snap a photo of your greenery with the app to work out what it’s called. This feature unlocks for premium members.
Planta tells you when it’s time to water each one, as well as how to actually water it.
The app also tells you when you need to fertilise, when it’s time for a refreshing mist, when to clean and when it’s time to repot your plants.
There’s even a really useful plant guide that isn’t just a list of plants and their characteristics. It can recommend the perfect plants for specific places, whether that’s a sunny conservatory, a gloomy office or a small corner of the bathroom.
If you’ve tried and failed to make your home a horticultural haven, you’ll love this app. Your plants will too.
