MUBI gives you great films for less. As well as being given a ticket to see a movie near you each and every week, with MUBI GO you’ll also be able to watch a selection of carefully chosen movies at home or on the move.
The offering is in two parts. The first shows you the hand-picked film of the week and where you can see it. All you need to do is to pick the date and time, and the app generates an e-ticket you can scan on arrival.
The cinemas aren’t just big chains either: when we searched for films the first result was our local, quite arty picturehouse. The emphasis is on quality rather than blockbuster appeal, so expect thoughtful cinema and drama rather than giant robots punching each other.
The second part is that your subscription also includes the MUBI service, which carefully selects 30 of the best films each month and streams them to your Mac, iPhone and iPad. Once again the focus is on the more cerebral, arty kind of cinema with films from directors such as David Cronenberg, Dario Argento and Mike Leigh.
Between the cinema tickets and the streaming, MUBI Go is a great way to get movies while keeping hold of your money.
