Hypnotherapy app Mindset is quick to explain that hypnosis is not just about magic shows and cabaret. Science-backed hypnotherapy can help you take control of your own thoughts and create new, positive behaviours.

Mindset offers guided hypnosis programmes delivered by clinical hypnotherapists, including Dr Michael Yapko, a world-renowned hypnotherapy expert. Each programme is tailored to help with issues such as anxiety, depression, relationship problems and even Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).

The app’s hypnosis programmes consist of multiple sessions targeting different aspects of the area, which progress with each session you take. The app also records how often you are participating so you can track your longest streaks – daily for the win!

Each session involves closing your eyes and following the voice of the hypnotherapist. They will talk you through a relaxation process, before guiding you to think about particular behaviours and scenarios. Similar to mindfulness, each session begins with a reminder to “Make sure you are seated in a comfortable chair or lying down…”. 

In the Moments tab, you’ll find snappy sessions that address situations happening in the moment, such as being in pain or low in energy. And, as lack of sleep is such a bugbear for so many of us, there’s also a section dedicated to getting better zzz’s.

And, if you can’t manage to prioritise your daily hypnosis session, let the app remind you with helpful and motivational notifications. It might be time to adjust your mindset.
