Day One Journal: Private Diary

Gratitude, travel, daily notes

View

With Day One Journal, taking the time to reflect on your day – or to record a fleeting moment – feels effortless.

What we love: As you write, the app records the current location, date and time. You can also add details such as the weather, a song you have playing and your step count to really capture the feeling of each moment, or photos and drawings to bring your entries to life.

Day One Journal encourages you to take some time out to gather your thoughts every day.

Quick tip: Head to the Siri Shortcuts section in the app’s settings and create a custom voice shortcut such as “New journal entry” that you can trigger with “Hey Siri”. You can also revisit moments from the past by tapping the On This Day section.

Meet the creator: Paul Mayne, founder of Bloom Built, created Day One Journal largely for his own use. “I had this idea for a life-tracking application, but it was too complicated,” he says. “Finally I realised I should just start with something simple.”
