Heroki is like a lost mascot from a bygone age, rebooted and revived for the iPhone and iPad generation.
You’re the colourful hero bouncing around a cartoon world, hoovering up shiny trinkets. Heroki’s got beautiful blue skies, a relentlessly cheerful soundtrack and the loosest of plots, just like old times (It’s something about rescuing…um…something from someone).
Heroki certainly doesn’t look like a retro game, though. Instead, its 3D worlds are vividly realised. And they’re animated with the kind of pizazz you’d find in a modern Nintendo game.
So, as the propeller-headed hero, you fly around these dazzling locales in search of the exit, picking up extra trinkets along the way. And just like a classic Mario or Sonic game, there are secret rooms and collectibles in every little nook and cranny.
To unearth all of Heroki’s secrets, you’ll need to curl up into a ball to smash through breakable walls. Or, you can pick up items or keys and carry them over to switches and locked doors. Along the way, you’ll also meet oddball characters who can enhance your abilities further.
Players of a certain age will love the new-retro feel, but really, we’re sure anyone will enjoy Heroki. After all, who wouldn’t enjoy whizzing around as a bright blue guy with a propeller on his head?
