Want to train like a A-lister? Chris Hemsworth’s health and fitness app, Centr, gives you access to his dedicated team of world-class coaches, nutritionists, chefs and mindfulness experts – as well as virtual workouts alongside the man himself.

“My inspiration for starting Centr came from wanting to provide a large audience easy access to the things I’ve learned and the people who have inspired me to live a happier, healthier life,” Hemsworth tells us.

Getting started

Input your training goals (Lose Weight, Get Fit & Toned or Build Muscle), record your current level of fitness and any dietary requirements and the app will create your plan. Your stats and diet can be adjusted any time in the app’s Settings.

In the Planner tab you will find your workouts, meals, snacks, motivational blogs and meditations for the day. Don’t like mushrooms or fancy HIIT rather than yoga? Tap the three dots and choose to swap any element of your plan.

Alternatively, head to Explore where you’ll find the complete collection of workouts, recipes and meditations to peruse.

Centr takes the guesswork out of creating delicious and nutritious meals.

Eat

The dietician-approved meal plans in Centr have been crafted by world-class chefs. They promise to be quick to prepare and rich with fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains and quality proteins.

The idea is that eating healthily shouldn’t mean sacrificing taste, so recipes range from pot roasts to Korean bulgogi.

Each recipe contains a list of ingredients (with an option to add them all to your shopping list), method and nutritional info.

Train

“All of the training on Centr is training that I’ve done, with experts and exercises and movements I was inspired by,” says Hemsworth.

Centr’s super-efficient exercise sessions are mostly around 30 minutes long with some just 10-15 minutes, to fit easily into your day. Many workouts require no equipment.

Choose from a range of disciplines including functional training, boxing, HIIT, Pilates, plyometrics and many more. You can follow Coached Workouts led by trainers or Self-Guided in which you select your own combination of moves. Alternatively choose one of the multi-week Programs such as Centr Fusion – a combination of strength, yoga and HIIT sessions over six weeks.

Follow the videos from your Apple TV, iPad or iPhone. Centr is also compatible with your Apple Watch so you can log your workout and record your heart rate right from your wrist.

No need to HIIT the gym with this workout.

Live

On top of healthy eating and fitness, each day Centr will give you a meditations, sleep visualisations and lifestyle hacks to help you achieve balance in your life.

“I learned that combining the three components of training, nutrition and mindfulness into my daily life made a hugely positive impact on my overall health and wellbeing,” says Hemsworth.
