Mario, Bowser, Peach, Yoshi – the gang’s all here in Mario Kart Tour. Understanding the ins and outs of each character is the key to success, so make the most of their strengths with these tips.

Find your path
Each character, kart and glider in the game is best suited for a specific course. Choose the most compatible character for a serious advantage: three item slots.

Who’s your best bet for the Yoshi Circuit course? Yoshi, of course. But not all pairings are that obvious!

For example, Mario is a good match for Mario Circuit 1, while Donkey Kong is compatible with Dino Dino Jungle. And if you manage to nab three of the same item, you’ll enter Frenzy Mode, which lets you temporarily use the item more than once.

Matching the character to the course can make a world of difference.

You got skills
Every character has a unique special skill. Bowser’s Bowser Shell knocks rivals off the road, Peach’s Heart protects her against attacks and Mario’s Fireflower launches a trio of fireballs. Master these powerful abilities to rule the road.

Characters come in three tiers: common, rare and super rare. And that’s not just for show – rarer characters are compatible with more courses than common characters.

From a slick suit to a Japanese-style outfit, Mario dresses for success.
