The technique is based on a scientific study by the Japanese scientist Izumi Tabata.
A minute of Izumi Tabata workout burns twice as many calories as 60 seconds of jogging. Such daily burn Anaerobic training requires serious effort, but it takes very little time - the standard ratio is 20 seconds of work and 10 seconds of rest, and so on 8 times. If you're willing to go all out for 4 minutes a day and are ready for a long-lasting effect, this technique may be right for you. To do this, you will need a Tabata timer that will turn ordinary training into Tabata HIIT with the repeat circuit timer.
It is believed that a 7 minute workout is the most effective technique, but 4 minutes of Tabata in practice shows a better result. It isn't easy to do it without a workout timer, since it is crucial for HIIT to alternate between high intensity and rest. That is why we have created the Tabata HIIT timer which also includes training programs. It is a combination of interval timer and workout planner that allows you to create an individual plan focused on your personal goals.
HIIT workout is designed to push you to your limits. Just train and perform as many reps as possible(AMRAP) of each exercise at max effort for a very short period of time - 20/45 seconds, rest briefly - 10/15 seconds, and then continue on to the next move.
People choose Tabata workouts because it makes more calories burned than steady-state cardio and it generates a bigger afterburn effect - you will continue burning extra calories up to 48 hours after your HIIT ends.
