If you’re thinking of downloading bolt food, Please don’t. I suffered this so you wouldn’t have to and I’ll share my horrible boltfood experience. Not only will boltfood link your card to the app without your permission with the excuse that you linked it to their cab hailing service so it’s basically the same. They double debit you and lie to you that you’d get a refund. So I ordered some kfc and paid via momo oblivious about the fact that my card had been linked to the food app. The courier himself requested for payment knowing fully well that it was already billed to my card. Weeks later, I notice a debit notification from bolt on my phone and I proceed to bolt’s support to report it because I hadn’t made any bolt trips at the time. It was there I was informed that the debit was from the food app and I was instructed to report the issue there instead. Basically bolt food’s support justified the double debit by saying the courier couldn’t remember the trip among a host of other irrational excuses. I threatened to take this up legally after I wasn’t getting a reasonably response. It was only then that they found it prudent to give me a call to coddle me and promise me a refund. This happened in January. They closed the case without giving me the refund.

What the hell is wrong with your system that for the past 11months till today, I’ve not been able to access your platform. From the beginning, I thought it was the fact that my phone was low on memory, so whenever I click on the app and it closes, then I ignore it and look for an alternative. Sincerely, I even deleted the app at a point since it was virtually useless on the phone. But I downloaded it 5days ago and ask I speak, that same problem still persists and I’m unable to open the app for no good reason. So I will suggest you take the app off, if you can’t do anything to resolve the problem or if the app isn’t effective. That I think, would be best for all of us.

I placed an order for chicken inn on 2nd June 2023. And it cost ¢112 through my mtn mobile money account. The money was deducted from account. Yet the order did not go through. Hence I contacted Bolt food support and I was told the money would be reversed to me in 48 hours. So I replaced the other though my Vodafone cash which went through. To date, I’ve not received the money and customer service has stopped replying. At first I was told the money has been reversed (not more that once) and I called MTN but they said I’ve not received money from anyone. And now, customer support has stopped replying my messages. If I could leave 0 stars, I would.
