Fishing Paradiso

You hear waves gently breaking along the shore, a sea breeze rhythmically rustling through the trees and, what’s that, shouting? Yep, there’s distant shouting. Open your eyes sleepyhead!
Well, this is quite a disorientating reality: you appear to be marooned on a desert island. And that voice yelling at you to get up? It’s coming from a tiny blue bird. You’ve arrived in heaven after an untimely death, and that heaven is called Fishing Paradiso.
You’ll find no consolation from that cute birdy though, who you’ll soon realise is more sharp-tongued than sweetly sympathetic. But this is the only friend you’ve got right now, so heed its helpful advice. Now, you’re probably hungry after your journey to heaven so it’s time to find some food, and that means one thing: fishing. What, did you think you’d get food delivery here? No chance, so grab that fishing rod and let’s go.
The game stars a curious cast of characters, like a cat who works at a restaurant, a boy living in the jungle and a skilled carpenter, all of whom you’ll encounter along your path. They’ll probably ask you to catch something for them, like sea urchins or mackerel, and off you’ll go to your fishing spot.
There, tap the right/left arrow buttons to decide the direction of the fishing rod. The knack is figuring out the right timing by watching the distance gauge, then tossing your bait as close as possible to the fish; if you’re too hasty, the bait will be wasted. If you get a nibble on your hook, a gauge will appear. The key here is to watch the gauge and slowly reel in your fish – otherwise it will escape if the gauge becomes full.
Depending on the kinds of fish you catch, you’ll earn coins. Remember to pay attention to how much bait you’ve got left, and aim to level up your rod and throwing ability.
Every character you encounter will be added to your list of friends. They’re all looking for fish for different reasons, so you can earn coins by responding to their requests. The more you fish, the better you’ll get at refining your technique and tactics.
Fishing Paradiso isn’t solely (see what we did there!) about trying to catch scaly cold-blooded water-based vertebrates. A fun storyline weaves its way through the game and evolves with plenty of intrigue. Let’s just say there are angels, a space rocket and mysterious fish involved.
