Η εφαρμογή ΑΠΛΑ είναι το πρώτο εργαλείο στην ελληνική γλώσσα για τον προσδιορισμό των συμπτωμάτων ενός πιθανού εγκεφαλικού και το πρώτο που καθοδηγεί γρήγορα τον ασθενή με εγκεφαλικό για τη λήψη θρομβολυτικής θεραπείας.
Το «Α.Π.Λ.Α. – Άκρο Πρόσωπο Λόγος Άμεσα» σχεδιάστηκε από τη Νευρολόγο – Στρατιωτική Ιατρό Β. Ζησιμοπούλου,
με στόχο την προνοσοκομειακή διάγνωση του εγκεφαλικού επεισοδίου βάσει του Cincinnati Prehospital Stroke Scale. Η εφαρμογή εξοικειώνει το χρήστη με τα συμπτώματα του εγκεφαλικού, χρησιμοποιεί έναν αλγόριθμο για τον προσδιορισμό της πιθανότητας εγκεφαλικού σε λιγότερο από 1 λεπτό και καθοδηγεί, με προσδιορισμό της θέσης GPS, στο κοντινότερο νοσοκομείο που εφημερεύει νευρολογική κλινική για παροχή θεραπείας.
