Coupling two A1 not a success

I have two A1 speakers and a recent iPhone. It took many failed attempts to update the older A1 to current software. Now they can be coupled to play stereo. The software says it worked. The phone connects to both. But only the left one plays (if I turn it off the right one plays).

We're sorry to hear that you've had issues with your A1 when stereo pairing. Leaving just the master speaker paired via Bluetooth with the device you are using may help. Volume

Turning volume up and down was better before the update. Now with this circle is fancy but not convenient . Also I know that is hard but not impossible if we could turn on and off the speaker via the app.
