I was reluctant to buy this app, believing it would probably not be as fast as promised on the website. My initial impression (with an iPad Pro 2018 and a Win7 PC) was not that great, response-wise, and I also had a nagging “OSBASE iDisplay Evaluation Copy” message, floating on the screen.I asked the devs via email and I was guided to download an earlier version of the PC client (v1.5.6.7 for anyone having the same issue), which was the last made-for-Win7 version. After installing this version, the message went away and at the same time, the performance improved greatly! It’s now as if I have a 2nd monitor plugged in at my graphics card (it is indeed THAT fast). Great work, Duet guys!

This app used to be great. However recently (probably after OS 11 and High Sierra) it became a bad experience:1) The installation of the mac OS app through their main link is not suitable for High Sierra. You need to search for the latest release. Else you will be stuck with an app that will keep asking you to install it again and again.2) Don’t choose the “display arrangement” from the os icon as it only offers and notification and then searches for updates!!3) If you mirror the displays, then you may stop the mirroring only through the mac os duet app and not through system preferences where there is no option to stop the mirroring. 4) Worst of all: The old app used to run smoothly. It was an excellent application. This one is seriously laggy. Sometimes if you even hover with the mouse on a window located in the ipad you may also notice graphic issues.5) I work with parallels for some windows based apps. When you connect the ipad to the mac and then open parallels the resolution of the windows environment is completely different. (note that I keep the app on my mac screen without dragging the window to the ipad). With the ipad unplugged, no issues. Normal screen resolution as always. This has probably something to do with the graphic driver/helper installed by duet. I ‘ve uninstalled the duet app as it no longer works like before. The only reason for the second star is that this app used to be really great. I hope that the team will be able soon enough to fix these problems.

I’ve been using it for years, the latest update has a much improved menu on Windows and decreased latency. It’s the perfect tool to turn your device into a second monitor.On Windows 10/11 I can even use my Apple Pencil to note stuff on my computer, using the iPad as a 2nd monitor with a touch screen.
Just what I needed
Athmandest
Had some glitches in the beginning but Tech Support was super responsive and under Sergios competent and benevolent guidance these got fixed and now I have a stable wired and wireless connection from MacBook to iPad which I use as a second screen. The lag is minuscule while definition and frame rate can be adjusted. Huge productivity boost for me.
