Good but very short story

..

Beautiful but not a game

Beautiful atmosphere and music and really romantic script made me consider this one a piece of art, but what kind of art? Putting the player in a role of going back and forth a few times while all the “puzzles” solve themselves make monument valley more of an interactive narrative than of a game. I can’t even talk about puzzle difficulty as the game has no real puzzles at all, it just requires you to walk from one square button to another. Combined with the short duration, the lack of challenge makes monument valley more like 50 minutes of a narrative than a “game”. 50 minutes after the beginning, without any challenge and 10 lvls if walking, the game asks you to pay an additional 2.something euros for 8 additional levels. So the developers think that 45-55 minutes has covered the price we paid and ask us for more? No thank you, it is quite overpriced for its duration even if you buy it on discount (San Andreas offers hours and hours, should cost about 400 euros if it was priced by these guys here...)

I would easily give 4 stars if it was listed under books category and not games. Now I feel a little bit of exploited for buying what I thought was a game.

Disappointingly short and easy! Marvelous design though!

Don't get me wrong I loved the narrative and the colour pallette and the sound design! But it's not a puzzle game in any sense!

For 5 something euros and all the hype around this game it's definitely not worth the price. All this because you quickly realise that what you got is not a full game but a small teaser.
