Excellent app, could use some more features

It gets the job done, it’s quick and safe! I use Uber Taxi since we don’t have Uber cars here in Greece anymore... From my experience, I believe that if it had a few more features it would be perfect. -Profile optimization (Music that I prefer)-Block drivers (I’ve had an incident where I had a horrible ride with a driver, I one starred him and later that day I bumped onto him again) -Better pickup notifications (I’ve had countless incidents where I wouldn’t get notified about my ride arriving at the pickup location and I’d be charged for cancellation, even thought I’d get the money back a little while after, I’d have to wait for the next taxi to come and pick me up)

A nightmare in Japan

Using Uber in Japan is just a nightmare. The skeletal version of the APP in Japan is new to the very conservative Japanese market and has only just become a thing recently, or to be more precise is trying to become a thing. Exorbitant prices asside, Uber in Japan reveals the deeply rooted problems of a technology and a people who are still stuck in the previous century. Taxi drivers go to wrong locations and cannot think outside the box to find you, I mean if you are behind fence and the house is behind the fence, you would think they would drive around the block but…no! The same goes for delivery men. Yesterday I called and called out to a delivery guy who was hiding behind a post and when I texted him to see if it was him, he cancelled the order and drove off even though I was running after him in the street! Now I have been charged for that order even though I spent a fortune and my food was never delivered. I had to wait for “10 minutes” at a time, 2 days later a bot finally allowed me to text my problem. To this I got a reply saying “We will try to get back to you in 24 hours!!!”. Uber here is such a joke, I would much rather walk in the middle of the night to wherever I have to go, than use Uber again and have to deal with their incompetent staff.

You type the name of the location, street,place,etc, of where you want to go and the name of that location is NOT UNIQUE, (for example you can have streets with the same name but similar zip codes), you can easily choose the wrong one which is the wrong destination. Please make the choice more evident or show a preview of the map before proceeding with the selection,so that people don’t click on the wrong destination and get charged extra to arrive at the correct one.2. You search for a driver-> the app takes some time to find one (lately that’s the case).. But you choose to close the app since you’ve had NO notification that a driver is arriving and there is a long waiting time ->> Result: The app is still running in the background,the call for the driver is not cancelled,a driver has been found and you GET CHARGED because there is a driver coming for you even if you cancelled !

I will review just the version of uber in Greece as I haven’t used it anywhere else. Here in Greece for the past 5 to 6 months finding an uber is considered a miracle. I am using uber in the capital Athens at random hours of the DAY as I have to travel a lot. When I open the app I can see in the map that in the region I am call the uber there are plenty of drivers roaming around, but after even 15-20 minutes there is no driver found. Here I would like to add the star system is not the issue because I have 4.9 stars. So to continue, almost every time I am call and waiting to find a driver the app “mysteriously” pops a message that if I want to find a driver I should add a tip or I will wait for a long time. So for my sanity I am calling a driver from another app that I am not going to name here ( for obvious reasons) and just in 2-5 minutes the driver is on the way to pick me app. Long story short if you want to find a driver or for a driver to accept your call you should add a spicy bonus.I hope one day you will have more control to your drivers so incidents like that won’t happen, until then BYE!!
