War is hell, but it’s also thrillingly competitive in online tank-battle form.
In World of Tanks Blitz, players are dropped into their big metal war tortoises and pitted against one another in online seven-versus-seven matches.
Said tanks are drawn from all kinds of different nations, and though your starting arsenal is quite weak, you can use cash and experience points earned from battling to upgrade.
The controls are easy to pick up, with one on-screen joystick for moving and another for aiming, plus buttons for zoomed aiming and firing.
To win your round, you must either eliminate all of the enemy team, or capture the base in the middle of the map. Experience and deftness are required; each tank has different handling and weak points. Skilled players learn to move in and out of cover and manoeuvre around opponents by making the best use of their vehicle’s abilities.
World of Tanks is hugely popular for a reason – once you roll onto the battlefield for yourself, you’ll see why.
