Temple Run 2

Grab the Idol and run!

The original Temple Run was a genius idea: it distilled the entire Indiana Jones treasure-hunt genre into that scene where Jones ran from a boulder, sped it up and added demon monkeys.

Fast, frantic and incredibly moreish, it was a sensation. And everything you loved about Temple Run is bigger and better in Temple Run 2 – including the monkeys. The little demon monkeys of the original have been replaced with one much bigger one.

Like any good sequel, Temple Run 2 is bigger and better than the original.

The graphics are better, not that you have much time to look at them: the gameplay is fast and relentless, requiring every ounce of concentration. The levels are less angular and more diverse, and the addition of zip wires and mine carts brings more variety.

Everything happens with a swipe or a tilt: swipe up to jump, down to slide, left or right to change direction and tilt to move from side to side – something you’ll need to do if you want to collect all the coins and power-ups. You’ll want them: without coins and gems you’ll have to restart entire levels if your character gets killed.

Easy to pick up, hard to master and always a whole bunch of fun, Temple Run 2 is a worthy sequel to a genuine gaming classic.
