IFTTT - Automate work and home
Automations that save time
Wish you could make your outdoor Hue lights turn on whenever it rains? Or automatically upload your Uber trips to Evernote? The IFTTT app meets an essential need in this everything-connected age: it allows one cloud-based service to trigger another.
Short for If This, Then That, IFTTT works with more than 600 services and smart products, including voice assistants (Alexa, Google Assistant, Siri), music services (Apple Music, Pandora, SoundCloud, Spotify), video apps (YouTube, Vimeo), smart lights (Hue, LIFX), home-security products (Ring, August) and connected devices (iRobot, GE appliances).
The concept is simple: when something changes in one service – whether a Twitter post or someone ringing your connected doorbell – that triggers an action in another. IFTTT’s applets can save you time, keep you informed and help automate your most repetitive or mundane tasks.
You can write your own applets, but to start, look for the ready-made options on the main screen. IFTTT walks you through the process of setting everything up. And what could be easier than that?
