The L.A.U.G.H.® App 4+

The L.A.U.G.H. App uses an evidence-based multi-sensory approach to promote focus, nourish creativity and boost self- esteem. L.A.U.G.H. stands for Let Art Unleash Great Happiness – through creative expression, focus, mindfulness and engagement.

The L.A.U.G.H. App has shown tremendous results from a two-year pilot program in partnership with the University of Washington College of Education and Madrona Elementary School in Seattle. Researchers found that a “positive mood” after using the app was associated with an 18.7% improvement in “joy of learning” and a 19.2% increase in “school connectedness.” Additionally, as feelings of school belonging increased, “joy of learning” increased by 56%.

Seattle Children’s Research Institute has also been involved in developing The L.A.U.G.H. App — conducting evidence-based formative research, testing different approaches and measuring their effects on physiological markers of relaxation and concentration.

“The L.A.U.G.H. App is distinguished from virtually all existing health apps,” said Dimitri A. Christakis MD MPH, Director, Center for Child Health, Behavior, & Development. “Our preliminary data demonstrate that children using The L.A.U.G.H. App exhibited much greater concentration than when using comparable entertainment apps.”
