Meet the Unizest e-current account app, a digital alternative to a traditional bank account, made for workers and students new to the UK. If you don’t have a UK bank account or are unable to get one, our UK e-current account could be the right account for you. Download the app and open your Unizest e-current account in only a few minutes, even without a UK address or UK mobile number.

If you are preparing to come to the UK to work or study and are 18 or over, you don’t need to wait until you arrive to open your Unizest e-current account. You can open your account before you get to the UK and start receiving and sending money straight away.

Use your Unizest app like regular online banking apps to manage your money, set up direct debits, make instant transfers and more. When you know your new UK address, you can confirm your address, order your contactless Debit Mastercard and reveal your PIN, all within the app.

WHAT YOU NEED

To open a Unizest account you need:
- To be 18 or over
- Identification - a passport, drivers license or national ID document
- Proof of your immigration status if you need a visa to be in the UK (simply get your share code from the Home Office website at https://www.gov.uk/view-prove-immigration-status and submit it in the app)

Once you have downloaded the app, you’ll need to follow onscreen instructions to complete 5 simple steps:
- Enter your name and email address
- Confirm your phone number (this doesn’t have to be a UK number)
- Enter your address (this doesn’t need to be a UK address)
- Scan your ID document and confirm your facial ID, within the app
- Enter your Home Office share code if you need a visa to be in the UK

In most cases, your account will be approved and opened immediately. In some cases we may need you to supply additional documents or information but we’ll let you know if there’s anything more we require before your account can be activated.
