Pocket Yoga
Practice yoga anywhere
Part reference manual, part kindly instructor, Pocket Yoga clears away a lot of the mystery surrounding yoga, making the practice accessible and approachable no matter your experience with planks and cow poses.
The highlight of the app is its library of some 200 poses, all beautifully illustrated and described in detail. You’ll learn, for example, that the balancing cat pose should be done with hips square to the floor and the neck and hand in line with the spine.
The pose library is sortable by type (standing, seated, prone) or level of difficulty – or by name for easy browsing. When you’re ready for a full yoga session, choose from more than two dozen animated routines, ranging from 30 to 60 minutes, all led by a gentle voice with calming background music. To watch a class on the big screen, beam it to your TV via AirPlay.
Pocket Yoga allows you to pause and return to a session, so you can stop to read up on a particular pose (or just refill your water bottle). Feel free to take it back to square one as often as you need. How’s that for low pressure?
