So, I already wrote a review, taking about this great app!

I already made a review, but I found a problem…please fix it :(
I do notes often in the public note room, talk to people, draw, (sometimes, bc I’m not an artist in the app) One day, I made some notes and decided to save it, the disc said “if u have noted u want to save, please click the “stop collaboration” button”. I thought it meant the note would be saved into a new file, I was wrong. I’m stuck in the public room thing, I can’t see other peeps, it says only I’m online :(( I have trouble with Chinese so Chinese people help me, please fix this. I’m sad, bc of this I’m using the app less, bc it makes me less productive. (I’m lonely okay-).

Ngl though, I LOVE THIS APP, it has a bunch of awesome features and so many colours, my fav is blue, teal, black white green and pink. Light pink :) this app is sooooooooooo helpful! I 100% reccomend it. Please fix this error or something I cannot fix. My first name in that app is “diamond” no caps. If u need my email, CollaNotes, please send me a reply back. Thank you!!

An impressive free app with functions comparable to the other paid apps,

I am totally new to digital note taking and stumble upon CollaNote while researching for an app that is user-friendly to have a first try. Totally blown away by the available functions and more impressive that this app is totally free! I can’t say enough thanks to the developer, a university student who is generous enough to share his work to other fellow students and anyone interested in digital note-taking.

The public notes and questions page is an interesting aspect not available in any other note-taking apps, which allows anyone using the app to try out the functions and interact with other fellow users all over the world (need to sign in for such collaboration).

Thank you again for making this wonderful app, I can’t wait to experiment other new functions in the next update! (^_^)

Most customizable features are LOCKED OFF

Originally this would have been 5 stars, but i docked stars because they made like half of the features paid, back then, i liked using this app solely because everything was free, it had ever i asked for, but now some customization features have been locked out, (eg. the custom wallpaper and colored UI, the folder covers and the stickers) I understand that this app has to make some money somehow, but instead of locking out old and well loved features, how about making new features a paid feature?

This app started off as a completely free useful note app, but now its starting to become what the free version of goodnotes5 is. I appreciate how they didn't limit the amount of notes made, because if they did i would just leave this app and find a better one instead.
Im not a user that likes spending money on apps, and im sure some users just dont have access to spend money on apps either. I hope im not asking for much, but please, at least consider making the customization features free again!

The best digital note!

I have been using other notes for a while and I realized that it’s too much in their UI so sometimes you just want something with more simplicity and efficiency. I started with free version and I really enjoy using it and end up purchased the pro version. Couldn’t fault it and still one of the most frequent use app ever! Highly recommend, if adding video into the notes could be an enhancement then it will be perfect! I work in Pilates industry so sometimes could like to put some movement videos into my notes …. Hope the developer could see this request!

New update made the writing experience worse

I have been using this app for almost 3 years now. I loved it because it was free and it is useful. Therefore, I bought the premium version once it was out. Nevertheless, problems keep popping up.
First, when writing you will experience a 0.5-1 second time lag. This made me unable to write words like “l”, “t”, “b”’ “d” etc. with the vertical strokes being long enough .
Second, part of my past notes were corrupted. Some writings or photos disappeared.
Third, the advanced setting of the pens are kinda laggy. Sometimes I opened the writing sounds but it just doesn’t exist. There are pop up windows warning me of my device being silent but I literally have max volume.
All in all, this was a pretty good app but I hope these problems can’t be solved as soon as possible.

Made by a student for students

Has a lot of features that only paid apps offer - for free. I like it a lot because I’m still new to note taking and it’s very user friendly - especially love the “favourites” option that lets you keep your favourite tools (and their colours/settings) on hand just an easy click away. I do think maybe a split screen option would be useful, but it’s not a dealbreaker for me. Thank you for all the work you put in to developing such a great note taking app!

The reason I love this app

I opened a fan page. I used to post my writings on it. Before I used this app.I usually use notes on iPad. It always delete my notes when I am setting up my settings. Once, I suppose to set a lock and I accidentally deleted it. Another time, while I was highlighting my notes to post on my page, I accidentally press to return button and my whole story are gone. Now I found this app to make my note safer.

Please improve the efficiency

App is so good in almost every possible! And thank you for making the app free to use - this has helped so much.

However, one thing I noticed is that the battery drains too quickly when using CollaNote, and the iPad (or even M1 MacBook) becomes hot to the touch.

Also, is there any way to move locally stored notes to iCloud. I can't seem to move them in the app or in the iOS files app.

This app has been a 5-star app, except that recently the app would stop working suddenly with some manuscripts gone. I tried to report the situation via app but failed; tried to seek community advice but the app stopped and exit once I logged in. Please kindly fix the problem (i.e. no more sudden app exit or app stopping). Also, is there any “save” button apart from “autosave” to avoid data loss? Thanks a million

A decent app

As a student, I think taking digital notes isn’t something that you have to pay for. So I like CollaNote because it gives me a chance to take digital notes for free. however, I just like the fact that some of the features are locked behind a pay wall. so CollaNote please make the app completely free again! in conclusion, it’s a great app, just that I don’t like the fact that you still have to pay for some features.
