Privacy
We know the things that you type on your phone are personal, so we’ve designed Gboard to keep your private information private.
What Gboard sends to Google:
• Gboard sends your searches to Google’s web servers to give you search results.
• Gboard also sends usage statistics to Google to let us know which features are used most often and to help us understand problems if the app crashes.
• If you use Gboard’s microphone, voice input will be sent to Google for transcription.
What Gboard doesn’t send to Google:
• Other than your searches and voice inputs, Gboard doesn't send anything you type to Google, whether it’s a password or chat with a friend.
• To help you with spelling and to predict searches you might be interested in, Gboard will store the words you type on your device. This data is not accessible by Google or by any apps, and can be cleared at any time.
• If you’ve turned on contacts search in Gboard search settings, this allows Gboard to search the contacts on your device so that you can easily share. None of these queries is sent to Google.

Problem w/Cantonese keyboard
Nice to see the Google keyboard coming to iOS, but the experience with Cantonese input has been problematic compared with the keyboard offered in Google's services (e.g. Google Translate):
1) For 「你」，the app only accepts NEI but not LEI. Translate accepts both.
2) For most cases, Translate offers more alternative options for the same characters. This is important especially when typing full sentences, as one mis-recognized/non-recognized character can screw up everything else behind.
Good but still got some room for improvement
[Update in my review]
Recently Gobard has been very buggy in my iPhone Xs. When I am trying to type something in Gboard, it immediately switches to the default keyboard and I cannot use any features of Gboard. Please fix that as soon as possible as this problem has been frusturating me for a while!!
Pros
1. Predicative typing and gliding are very convenient. They save time and allow me to type faster. I also notice the keyboard will learn your typing habit and adopt your style.
2. Search function is useful especially for emoji and contact search.
Suggestions
1. I do appreciate the inclusion of hepatic feedback for typing. However, I think the effect can be more solid. Right now I think the hepatic feedback is quite soft.
2. I do appreciate that the predicative typing will suggest emoji. However, when I tap on the suggested emoji my typed word is immediately replaced by the emoji. I do hope that the keyboard allows me keep both the words I typed and the suggested emoji.
3. It is good that users can use 3D touch as cursor to slide from words to words. However, it would be better if users can use 3D touch to select a particular word (a function present in the iOS default keyboard).
Very glitchy
The keyboard itself is really cool. The only problem is, and this happens a lot, is that the keyboard glitches. It sometimes switches between other keyboards randomly, it sometimes won't work if I am using the drag texting, often it leaves out spaces in-between words randomly and sometimes the whole thing freezes over everything I can't use it. The glitch though, is when it started jittering up and down rendering it useless and it wouldn't let me switch keyboards. Overall, it's pretty bad and I am definitely uninstalling.
