Improve a lot

AI-enabled brand new Google news is much better. But there is still a lot improvement should be done:
Simplified Chinese character everywhere even Taiwan or Hong Kong is selected.
Should consider including some social elements, like, I can build my own channel so that my friends can see the news I recommend.

Not usable after updating from Newsstand to News

So now my newsstand subscriptions are moved to the Favourites section after the update, and there are a few more news sections that are not localized. I DON'T WANT THEM AT ALL. Among all four sections, "For You", "Headlines", "Favourites" and "Newsstand", I only use "Favourites" because those are what I really want to read and those suggested popular news sources are not available in my mother language. How hard is it for Google, a company with all those big achievements in artificial intelligence and big data to suggest a list of popular news sources based on the location of the user?

I hate that there is such a huge change to the user interface - large white gaps in between news tiles, limited details, missing tile border and very big thumbnail that do not improve user experience most of the times.

More importantly, the app crashes every time I open one of my favourite local subscriptions. Well, I used to believe that Google developers are the best in the world but this doesn't seem to be the reality. You guys can't get the original functionalities to work properly when new features are added. All that's left is a great disappointment.

Should enable dictionary service

This app is really useful, it not only allows users to learn about the latest happenings around the world, it is at the same time a good language learning tool for people to learn English. However, it is such a shame that this app doesn’t provide the dictionary pop-up function. When I try to highlight a word to search for its meaning, the dictionary (embedded in most Apple’s products) doesn’t pop up the “look up” word function like it normally does. I think it will be way better if this app enables the dictionary function, allowing people to look up words by just highlighting the text.
