Incredibly addictive and great game!

I am a fan of Civilization and love to read, and this game is a wonderful combination of turn based strategy and engrossing storyline. Great value for money despite the relatively high price, it will keep you occupied for days / weeks / months. For people who like turn based strategy, might not suit people who only like shooters / action based games. Definitely not for people who cannot be bothered to read a lot of text.

Fascinating experiment/limited game

This is a real gem which stands as a testament to the potential of mobile storytelling/gaming. I'm a picky reviewer so I cannot give it five stars because the gameplay is largely based on memorization and/or chance, and because for a fairly expensive iOS port, the controls are not very well suited to use on an iPad (lots of small text options, no back button even where it wouldn't be at all unfair, finicky sliders waste your time allocating farmland). Still, aside from these gripes it is a really unique game which asks you to adapt to a very superstitious world, along with some micromanagement. It evokes warm memories of old grain-allocation sims on UNIX and games like Oregon Trail, wherein you only vaguely understand the objective, but must juggle several impossibly competing demands, just hoping that something lucky will occur. You definitely get your money's worth from this long and intricate fantasy sim, and I only hope that the developer has the opportunity to further refine the concept, perhaps mold some of the more boring micromanagement and memorization-based spiritquesting into elements based on ratios, strategy and common sense (even a warped mythical common sense would do).
