Linphone is an open source app offering free audio/video calls and text messaging. With Linphone, you can be reachable at any time, even if the app is closed, with a WiFi or 3G/4G internet connection.

Warning:
* Since IOS10, SIP connections in background are no longer allowed. Therefore, only Linphone accounts (sip.linphone.org accounts) can receive calls when the app is closed, thanks to push notifications integrated within our server.
* Group chat features only available for Linphone accounts (sip.linphone.org accounts).

Good softphone till 1.0.3

Good softphone till 1.0.3.

Getting crappy since 1.0.4. If you are using 1.0.3, don't update.

In 1.0.4, call mangers must be specified using hostname, not IP.
In 1.0.5, you are unable to receive call while Linphone is running in background.

Easy to use

As a free app, it is a good voip softphone application that can be connect via GPRS, Edge, 3G and Wifi. Easy to set up Sip account. However, the dial pad is too simple with no features at all. at least you should have cancel button not to mention voice mail, conference or call forwarding functions.
