Bug

After recent update, the pocket did not function well in iPad Pro.
When you want to delete article, it cannot execute this order and get hang.

New Listen feature is bad

The biggest turn off is the new listen feature. Now it requires an internet connection while the previous version doesn’t need one. That means I can’t listen to any article if the signal is bad or not available at all (for example, when traveling). Even if I have an internet connection, I often have to wait for a while before it reads the article. Sometimes, it just doesn’t work at all.

In the previous version, if I miss something while the voice is reading the article, I can always pause and read where the voice is at. Now it’s gone. The listen panel just blocks the whole article and the reading stops when I want to read where the voice is at, only to find the app is not flipping the page automatically.

And also, I’m not very fond of the new voice. With that said, the voice itself is not the thing that bugs me the most. It’s the lack of choices.

Overall, the new listen feature is not a good experience at all. I don’t care about the voice being “more human”. I prefer how it works in the previous version: being able to use it offline, indication of the voice reading progress in the article, and different choices of voices.

Recent update is bad

I have been using Pocket for a few years and subscribed their premium plan. But after the recent update, I cannot continue reading from where I left off, this is particularly annoying when reading long articles.

And the UI is bad: no full screen reading—there is a stupid top bar, not making my saved articles on home page (the reason I want Pocket is to read articles I save, not getting more recommended articles to save).

I love Firefox and that’s one of the reason I support Pocket, but this update is a dealbreaker. I have cancelled the yearly renewal of subscription, hope they will improve.
