Phone notification can be better

In order to get notification, the Polar Flow app must stay on in the background. Literally I had to make sure the whole app is still on in the background by double tapping the home button every so often. Didn’t have to do that when I was using Pebble watch or even low end watch like Mi Amazfit watch.

I can get away with one single set-able alarm, I can get away with manual sync to update fitness stuff, but as an user who likes his phone left silent only to be notify by watch, the Polar Flow app is big let down to their own mighty features packed Polar Vantage M. I wish this could be addressed, or else what’s the point of wearing this watch 24 hrs to utilize to its fullest.

Readings Wildly Inaccurate

Checking readings of my heart rate (pulse) against HR readings on blood pressure monitors in hospitals and with home models, the Polar readings are still extremely on the high side and highly inaccurate.

Having such a wildly inaccurate device is quite disconcerting and potentially hazardous to heart patients such as myself, as it can cause alarm and anxiety due to the inaccurate readings.

Furthermore, the sleep function constantly misses the earlier hours of my sleep; e.g., from 1:00 a.m. or 2:00 a.m. until the time I actually get up in the morning. For example, the Polar sleep function constantly indicates that I first go to sleep at hours like 5:00, 6:00 or 7:00 a.m. which is usually half way through my sleep period when I get up to urinate.

In short, I think this product is a complete ‘lemon’ which does not perform some of its vital health-related functions with any degree of accuracy.

To be fair, the function which tracks my walks around my neighbourhood is fairly accurate at least in terms of showing
the route I took on a map and the timing of each outing.

Sincerely and Sadly,

Sean Leonard
