Description

ReeXpose is the best app for long exposure photography on the App Store. Designed by professionals for professionals, ReeXpose closes the gap between your iPhone and a DSLR camera, allowing you to shoot long exposure photos in RAW. All without the need for additional ND filters!

Select your capture mode, adjust your exposure, chose your capture duration and ReeXpose will do the rest. The result will be a single, 12-bit DNG file editable in your favorite editing software.

Use the “motion blur” mode to make people disappear, smooth the movement of clouds, or give running water a characteristic silky appearance. Use the “light trails mode” for stunning star trails or to transform moving cars into gorgeous rivers of light. Enjoy the flexibility of full manual controls and the extended dynamic range given by RAW files.

ReeXpose is brought to you by REEFLEX, the small studio behind the development of Reeflex Pro Camera and ReeHeld.

— IMPORTANT REMARKS —

• Note #1: *The RAW format is not supported for the ultra-wide camera on devices older than the iPhone 12 series (this is a limitation given by the manufacturer - Apple)
• Note #2: **As usual for long exposure, you must use a tripod and keep the phone as steady as possible. The app does NOT stabilize the images automatically. If this is what you're looking for, then please have a look at our other app (ReeHeld)
• Note #3: ***Bayer RAW images, which are the standard in professional photography, necessarily require editing in post-production in order for you to obtain a properly elaborated photo. The RAW image captured differs from what you see in the live-preview when shooting, as the live preview is based on the elaborated live output which is in JPG. Hence you might notice differences in what you see on the screen when shooting vs the final DNG image (Bayer RAW). We, therefore, suggest fine-tuning your exposure by manually adjusting SS and ISO, and taking several shots in order to find the best settings for your desired shot.

Great long exposure iPhone app on the market

Great app of ReeXpose, especially in Raw format, lets me could control the exposure, the high lights, the shadows, the dark areas…etc everything, making the iPhone long exposures far more easy to achieved beautiful light trails and movement photos that maybe beat the dslr cameras as well!

Of course the ReeXpose surely a great app for iPhone, but it’s not the perfect, sometimes when I took some photos, I just changed the settings a bit, the results were producing some magenta and purple images on the final image, even though I quit the app and restart it again, that’s no help at all, I just hope that the ReeXpose team fixed this problem quickly and soon ~ make it a perfect app for iPhone photographers ~

Great app with some recommendations

I just bought this app and had a trial, would like to share some experience with improvement suggestions.

1, I can’t see focus/exposure lock which is important in high lie light situation.

2, have to try several times in taking photos, sometimes it’s over or under exposed, and looks like white color is more intense and sensitive.

3, for UI, I usually use self timer, rule of third line and tilt-meter prior to take photo. However, I have to set it again if I exit the app. Is there any preset even re-open it?

4, for easy control interface and live display, “slxx, shuttxx” would be nice.

Appreciate ReeXpose provides RAW file format which is the greatest point for photographers.

Looking forward to seeing app improvements soon.

Developer Response ,

Hi there,
Thanks for your feedback and suggestions.

Getting back to your points/observations here:

1. When using Bayer RAW it is key to use the manual controls, in order to nailing the right exposure. Please use the manual controls (which are locked, once chosen) or else the tap-to-focus/exposure function, which is similar to the one used in the native iPhone camera app.

2. This is integral part of shooting in Bayer RAW format - meaning "what you see on the screen most often does not correspond to the final output image". In fact what you see on the screen, or while shooting with the live preview on, is the elaborated JPG version of the actual Bayer RAW photo. That's the reason why we suggest the following in ReeXpose's listing:

"The RAW image does differ from what you will see in the live-preview when shooting, as the live preview is based on the elaborated/compressed output which is in JPG. Hence you might notice differences in what you see on the screen when shooting vs the final DNG image (Bayer RAW). We suggest therefore to fine-tuning your exposure by manually adjusting SS and ISO and taking several shots in order to find the best settings for your desired shot."

3. We will consider adding a way to keep your settings when re-opening the app, in one of the future release.

4. This is not clear to us. Feel free to reach out to us via email and provide more details.

Also, please have a look at ReeXpose's tutorial and FAQ sections on our website - you'll find plenty of useful material to master your photo capture and take the best out of the app:

https://reeflexstore.com/pages/reexpose-tutorial
https://reeflexstore.com/pages/faq-reexpose

We're very happy to hear that you value the RAW (DNG) file format that ReeXpose provides, as that's a quite unique capability across other 3rd party camera apps currently on the App Store.

If you have any more ideas or feedback to share, please feel free to contact us at support@reeflexstore.com.

Thanks for choosing ReeXpose!

Don’t wast your money

I downloaded this app after watching a good review on YouTube as it was convincing that this app is as good as if not better then the DSLR. I thought id give it a try for the price. As expected total rubbish. In fact worse than the IPhone 13pro inbuilt camera options.

-App crashes when you tap the photo taken box.
- UI needs improve
- All picture taken in light streak more come out with a pink hue to them. Regardless of the ISO or WB settings.

Developer Response ,

Dear user,
Thank you for sharing your feedback with us.

As we explain in the FAQ section on our website - available at: https://reeflexstore.com/pages/faq-reexpose:

“ When shooting with Light Trails mode in very low-light conditions - using RAW format (with ReeXpose) - the user can at times experience a so-called "magenta cast" effect on the output photos, meaning the photos can have a layer of magenta hue affecting the image.

This is driven by the physical/technical limitations of the iPhone’s sensor in low light and can be mitigated by manually adjusting ISO and SS within the app.

Usually, this "magenta cast" effect can be avoided by significantly under-exposing the image when shooting, so as to then be able to retrieve the details out of the image when editing in applications like Lightroom, Darkroom, etc.

Have a look at this video from Shayne Mostyn, clearly explaining how to shoot Light Trails at night or in dark environment, and avoid/mitigate Magenta Cast effects: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GOrebe5MUfw “

Moreover, we suggest you to go through the tutorial which we've put together, so that you can quickly understand how the app works and make best use of it.

You can find the dedicated tutorial section in here: https://reeflexstore.com/pages/reexpose-tutorial

Regarding your feedback on the UI, we’d be more than interested to understand how we could improve that, if you have any valid suggestion.

For any feedback or if you need assistance, please contact us at support@reeflexstore.com.
