Training Today constantly monitors your Health Data from Apple Watch to determine your readiness to train (RTT) each day and throughout the day.

Training Today can help you stay safe from overtraining injury or let you know if it’s the best time to work hard, take it easy, or have a rest day.

Developed with British Triathlon Coaches and tested on athletes of varying ability, we have taken a holistic view of your life by using the advanced capabilities of Apple Watch to monitor your health 24hrs a day and process that data to create a simple, accurate readiness to train (RTT) score to help you reach your training goal.

* Presents a multi-day chart showing how your score is changing.
* Using the Digital Crown, you can scroll through previous RTT scores on the chart.

* We use Heart Rate Variability (HRV), Workout detection and our own algorithm to determine your RTT score.
* Automatic filtering of outlier data (e.g. very larger variances in data)
* Workout detection - we detect when you have completed a workout logged to Apple Health and show it on the chart. Tap the screen when you see one to get details of the workout and better understand the impact on your RTT score.

The following are available in the subscription version:
* Siri support - ask, "Hey Siri, what's my Training Today score?" or "Hey Siri, what's my Training Today RTT?" to see your score and current weekly chart
* Siri shortcuts - get your current Training Today score as input for automation you can create in Apple Shortcuts.
* Apple Watch notifications when your RTT drops by a configured amount compared to your 4-day average.
* View your RTT chart on your iPhone as well as your Apple Watch
* View your complete baseline HRV and RHR (Resting Heart Rate) data in the iPhone app and scroll through Years, Months and the related weekly RTT charts.
* Fine-tune your RTT score using Smoothing and Intensity Settings on your iPhone
* Add widgets to your iPhone home screens and lock screens showing your current RTT score and chart.
* Apple Watch Smart Stack Widget
* Compare your Resting Heart Rate data with your RTT and HRV scores.
* Notifications on Apple Watch when your RTT changes over a configured value compared to your 4-day average.

Dynamic Training is here - now with Dynamic Cycling Sets!

We have put a huge amount of work into getting the approach for our dynamic training right, both from a technical and a physiological point of view, and in this release we have added cycling sets to tje existing dynamic running sets.
You can visit the workout tab and generate a set based on your current RTT score. This will appear in the Apple Workout app on your watch which you can then start as an indoor or outdoor workout and follow along.
With the cycling workouts you can select if you want heart rate zones or power zone targets.
The workout app will keep you in your target zones, and data will be logged automatically into Apple Health.
You can select from a range of workout types and sets - be sure to click on the “How to choose” option if you want more guidance - and you can fine tune your “challenge level” if you want to push a little harder or take it a little easier.
We expect to continue to raoidly add new sets and sports to the app, and to include full plans for events or targets such as a 12 week 5k run plan for example. Let us know what sort of sports and events you would be interested in.
We are labelling this as beta because we want your feedback, so please do get in touch via support@trainingtodayapp.com with any comments you may have.

Stopped working all of a sudden :(

Hi guys, I found the app very useful since I’m training daily. I paid to unlock additional graphs.

After about 2 months, the complication on my Apple Watch 2 with watchOS 6.3 stopped working. Since all my other fitness apps still work (Strava, Stryd, Polar, Zwift,…), I’m not inclined to go out and buy a newer watch, any chance you guys can make it compatible with WatchOS 6.3 again?

So far the experience is not good. After two hard workouts it says I'm in top form and ready to train. And I'm dead tired.

Many thanks for trying Training Today and I am sorry it is not working for you.

It is working well for many people but we recognise that there are variances for some athletes. Some things you can check:
- are you getting enough HRV readings from Apple Watch (Check in the Health App > Search for HRV, and look for at least 10 readings a day) - if not then you can force a reading at quiet times using the Breath App.
- Are there any outliers in the data - we have seen some cases where very high HRV spikes are shown (e.g. jumping 200-300 points). You can swipe to delete these points. We are fixing this in an upcoming update.
- Ensure you have opened the iPhone app - this forces the app to read 60 days of data from the iPhone Health database, the watch only stores 7-10 days which may not be accurate enough for you.
- If readings are too high then you need to reduce the Intensity in settings - press firmly on the app screen and reduce the Intensity value.
- You could also try increasing the Smoothing value to limit the influence of outliers.
