Description

Walk to the Woods is a peaceful conversation starting game that feels like you're with your friends in the woods chatting about anything. You'll lay down and stare up at the stars as thought provoking questions are posed to everyone.

How do you want to get to know your friends? Walk to the Woods has 12 different base topics of various levels of intensity ranging from casual questions you could ask any coworker to vulnerable questions that may cause some tears. Are you on a first date? Trying to learn more about your family? Want to know more about random parts of someone's past? Not only are there 1200+ questions in the game, but also 40+ special sets that are specifically about certain topics and groups of people! Some examples of special sets include First Date, Couples, Pride, Out and Proud, Generations, Bias, Programming, Politics (non-US centric!), Movies, Music, Video Games, Tabletop and much more!

Some of the questions are repeatable and will shift every time you play them!

One such mode is Picture Dates! In that game mode, a random date within the last number of years will be chosen and players will answer the question with that date in mind! What were you most afraid of 5 years ago? What was something deeply on your mind 10 years ago? What were your friends like 18 years ago? Every time the mode is played, the dates are random, so it can be played as much as you want!

Sometimes, the conversations can get a bit intense. In that case, you can turn on tension breakers to break up the deep talks with some more fun questions or tasks! Every 3 questions, a random tension breaker will be chosen. These can be Tongue Twisters, Superlatives, Would You Rather, Guess Player Info, or a hidden tension breaker!

Tongue Twisters - Difficult phrases to say 5 times in a row quickly.
Superlatives - Which player is the funniest? Which one is the "Cleaner"?
Would You Rather - Would you rather be able to summon a pen and paper at will or an electric scooter at will?
Guess Player Info - Guess what one of your friends would say about some question.

What’s New

Version 3.0

***First Major Update***
It's been about 6 months since Walk to the Woods was released and we're happy to say we have our first major update! This includes a bunch of free content including, 300+ new questions, special sets, and new features!

***13 New Special Sets!***
We have a wide variety of new special sets!
- ADHD: Questions designed for people who have ADHD or might have ADHD.
- Agree or Disagree: Questions are now hot takes. Do you agree with them or disagree with them?
- The Check Up: Questions that are about how your week has gone.
- Cosplay: Questions for groups of people who make or wear cosplays.
- Couples IV: Questions for couples that have been together for years.
- Finger Down: Put up ten fingers. Every time you've done what the prompt says, tell the story and put a finger down. Least amount of fingers at the end wins!
- Food: Questions relating to your relationship to food.
- New Friend: A set designed for someone you just met and want to slowly get to know.
- Martial Arts: Questions for groups of people who have all done martial arts in some way before.
- Streamers: Questions for groups of people who are all streamers of some kind.
- Thought Provoking: Questions that are just interesting questions, but aren't designed to focus on the players themselves.
- Time Capsule: Questions designed to be recorded so you can see your answers in the future.
- Transgender: Questions for groups of people who are transgender/non-binary.

***Special Set Options***
Previously, special sets that randomly selected questions from pool could select questions from any intensity. That means players expecting simple questions about Art, might get a vulnerable question without wanting to or being asked about it. Now, there's options to turn those off.

***Replace Question in Random Special Sets***
Some special sets grab questions from a pool of questions, like Call Outs, Art, and Video Games. Despite having a pool of questions, much like the main game, there wasn't a way to replace a question until now!

***New Tension Breaker: Activities!***
We've been wanting to add little activity mini games ever since we made the Couples special sets. To finally get that in, we added the Activities tension breaker! These are really simple and short games that last between a 30 seconds to a minute. We have the disabled by default, and some of the new special sets will include them.

***60+ New Base Questions***
We've created at least 1 new question for every pair of intensity and topic in the game!

***Special Backgrounds***
For certain LGBT+ holidays, we've created sky backgrounds that match different LGBT+ flags! They'll only show up during those holidays, so be on the lookout!

***Bug Fixes***
- Fixed a bug where hitting enter on the Show Accessible UI toggle would double press it and not open the accessible UI.
- Fixed a bug where swapping between the accessible intensity menu and the regular menu wouldn't save the changes from the previous menu.
- Fixed a bug in the accessible menu where the effective click range of the start intensities were overlapping the end intensities.
