Why does it takes so loooong to download and install? Also crashing now and then, so this tool needs some REAL refactoring.
I feel like I'm downloading a game. I know IDEs are not small, but this is just too much. Updates take forever and you are always forced to use the latest MacOS version. Why doesn't that 20GB include an option to disable line wraping! It's not productive, you need to click around a lot, many things are hidden behind the UI which is great when it works, but let's be real, it does not. Just give me a file I can edit to change my build settings.
I can deal with the crashes, but now there's typing lag! As if I'm typing on a Commodore !!! Utterly pathetic. I guess new SwiftUI bling is more important than making the IDE perform as it should. I hope that XCode developers use XCode themselves to develop XCode, at least they'll be as miserable as I am.They should put animojis in the next version, just for good measure, don't fix anything!
This is probably the worst experience on a mac so far. The program freezes and its almost impossible to develop apps. Also there is often lag while typing, and Im using a 5k macbook pro 2020 machine. Its ridicilous, Steve Jobs would never allow this disgrace.
There's nothing Xcode can be congratulated on. It is slow, bloated and the Interface Designer is the worst of any IDE i have ever used.Add to this: windows that don't remember positions, crashes, and new Build system that is worse than the Legacy build system.
I am new to this, but i think it shouldnt be like this every 15-20 min It crashes
On every single update I have problems with XCode. Stuck on installing(after downloading) and can't do anything about it. Also it never finish unless I am uninstalling, and repeating the whole download.
Every time. How is it possible that this program is so difficult to download or update ?
XCode 26.2 is great developing tool for Swift and SwiftUI programming. Especially if you want to learn developing for apples devices.
I believe if Apple didn't force it on its users, nobody would ever use it. More bugs than the jungle. Nothing works properly, and definitely not easy and fun as advertised. Stay away if you don't need it.
For some reason it takes 6 hours to download from Apple servers, when my internet speed is good ( > 50 Mbps)
Each new release of Xcode is worst then previous. So where it will hit the bottom, so maybe Apple will rewrite this crap from scratch?
