Zombie Night Terror
Undead Horde Outbreak Ahead!
We’re used to games asking us to stop the undead hordes – but for once, this grisly puzzle game wants you to propagate the infection.
It all begins with a new drug named Romero (if you get that reference, you’ll love this). When injected, it turns the subject into a ravenous zombie – so you control this growing undead army, guiding them towards their fleshy, delicious prey to pass on the infection.
But as news reports alert the population to what’s going on – while cleverly detailing new power-ups – you’ll find your potential victims put up more of a fight, wielding guns and baseball bats to take down your braindead followers.
That’s no problem if you can swarm them with a large enough group, but bonus objectives – like finishing a level without losing a single zombie – become tricky puzzles to solve.

You can command your cadavers to bash down specific doors and even tell them which stairs to climb. But they’ll sometimes stumble into trouble if you don’t find a way to turn them around. Luckily, you can transform individual zombies into stoppers, redirecting them away from deadly falls and well-armed survivors.
A successful infestation demands sacrifices, of course, and so you’ll need to melt down the odd zombie to gain the DNA you need for more transformations. Set a stopper to explode, meanwhile, and you can destroy walls and floors, opening up new routes to help spread the virus further.
With its stark black-and-white pixel art decorated with liberal splashes of red, Zombie Night Terror looks as good as it plays. It’s a horror-puzzler that, fittingly, has brains to spare.
