Gated, timed and bad customer handling
Deals are there, like every game. Season, and two monthly. Yest the three daily deal is the most important. You get precious tickets for resources, four instead three. And it is a big difference.
Scripted events are everywhere. Make a trivia test daily, but hey on Saturday you can make a weekly test, choose your time: 11am or 11pm. Be careful once you pick the time in advance, you can’t change it. Just be sure to pick the right time because at the very same day there is a scripted PvP event starting at 11am or 11pm. You want to upgrade your troops. No problem. You get a ticket every 4 hours - not sure how cumulative- to fight against one opponent. Repeat that for 12 times.
The game seems very complex, which can be a very big plus. But with a lot commander and a lot skills it easy to get lost where are the synergies. At lest the game give you tips. Even offer you change.
But be careful after the grace period changing your setup can be devastating effect. In my case the game suggested a better setup. I had a lvl 37 commander and changing would mean the new commander can only inherit as much as enough for lvl30. But I had a special token which can bypass this and let you inherit the whole Xp pool. When I accepted the game suggested new setup it did not consume the token but I lost all that hard earned Xp. And there was no single warning : hey you really wanna throw away 3 days work? My main team got ruined. When I contacted the costumer support to either revert the change or take away the token and get back my hard earned Xp I was told that it would give me unfair advantage. I felt I was accused for their badly implemented feature. The closed my case. I closed their game.
