Your photos are safe, secure, and private to you. All photos and videos you backed up in Storage saver quality before June 1, 2021 do not count toward your Google Account storage. *Storage is shared between Gmail, Google Drive, and Google Photos.

You can also upgrade storage for your Google Account, used for Original Quality photos and videos, Google Drive and Gmail by subscribing to Google One, an expanded storage plan. Subscriptions start at $1.99/month for 100 GB in the US. Pricing and availability can vary by region.
Storage subscriptions purchased in-app will be charged to your iTunes Account, and automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Subscriptions and auto-renewal may be managed by going to iTunes Account Settings after purchase.

Using GPS in the background can decrease battery life. Google Photos doesn't run GPS in the background unless you turn on optional features.

I love absolutely everything about this app!!!
Being a mom of three and having a chance to travel a bit I try to make as many photo memories as possible! And without this app I would hardly manage! Seriously! Being amateur family photographer for my family and having such space and tools to keep and improve my photos is really a modern day digital miracle for me! Thanks to the whole team!!!Keep on going and improving!!!
Almost perfect
I’m using Google Photos since 7 years now, and it's continuously improving with the time. I like the features and it’s an instant working principle. I also uploaded my old family photos, so easy to say: all my memories are here. But I can give only 4 starts for the following reasons: - the photos will be no more free to save here, although I pay with my data and information to Google. I would like to pay for the space if they won’t use my personal data in the future, but it’s not granted. - Also the prices are high compared with Microsoft 365 package, which gives me and 5 family members 1TB space each, and a full Office package. That’s 6TB - And the biggest problem now: I have moved to China in 2020 for 4 years, and now I can’t easy access to my pictures and memories, because Goggle is blocked in China. Before you pointing your fingers to the Chinese government, I list some of the Companies/Products which are available: Apple with every services and the whole ecosystem, Microsoft as well, and if it’s non IT: All car brands, McDonalds, Burger King, etc, literally everything. Even Google has an Office in Beijing… So dear Google, speed up and make some accessibility improvements for the last star, and don’t make a paid service from Google Photos. You have the resources to keep going free.
Best photo organizer of this time
I never touch my bunch of photos after shooting so the need for organizing them was a growing threat.
Since I use google photos it’s no more an issue - it automatically does instead of me, and a lot more: offers readymade albums after a vacation, reminds you with a set of photos of happenings X years earlier on the same day, searching by A.I. is breathtaking.
Worth giving it a try.
