iConnectHue for Philips Hue 4+

No! At least not now :-(

I've read that this is the most complete app, the best for Hue, but it has an annoying error, design fails and lack of !simple! features.

- The error: If I create a group or rename it after that I can't scroll anymore the groups. So I need to force-close the app after every group create and rename.
- Design fail: For example in the accessories setup if I want to delete an action and I swipe left, the delete button will be on the screen right side, not in the action area. But this is only a design thing...

But please-please!! We need simple features too! In many times I need to control only one light with one Hue Dimmer button. Why need I select group or room to set a scene? For example I want to push the 1st button and set ONE lamp to a scene. With the second button I want to set another lamp (bulb) in the same room to another scene. Why I need to create a group for one buld if I want to do this? (And when I create a group, I need to force-close the app, because the error I mentioned above.)

And the State on-off thing. What if I want to control something if it is turned on AND it is on the Concentrate scene. I can't do this. I can only check if a group is on or off? And what if I want to control something when one bulb is turned off. Only groups and rooms problem here.

But other functions are OK in the app. If these things could be done, I would give the 5 star! It is just annoying that I deleted all my switch-related HomeKit shortcuts and wanted to control everything from the Hue bridge and it could be done, but not now, not with this app, which I've payed for.

thank you for the review.

The error you describe is not known to us. Should it still exist, please contact us from within the app by selecting “I have found an issue” in the “Contact” menu. Please explain how it happens, which screen were you on when it happened and what were you doing. This way, you will receive faster responses and the help you need, since we cannot offer a solution without much-needed information.

Now for your suggestions:
The delete function is an iOS standard and implemented exactly the same way in every iOS app, when it comes to tables. Pressing the button on the other side is a security function to prevent accidental deletions. We cannot follow why implementing a standard would be a negative.
You can delete actions by swiping them fully to the left. This way, you will not need to press the delete button.

The need for single light groups is caused by the capability of iConnectHue to freely configure the switches, and therefore needed for technical reasons. Configuring the needed groups and adding the switch actions is not difficult and takes about the same number of steps as similar configurations with different apps, like the Hue-App.
We understand that doing it that way is unfamiliar, but considering the upside of more switch options, cannot see why this is a problem.

An alternation based on the current scene is not possible at this point in time. The Hue bridge does not save if a scene and which scene is currently running.
We have contacted Philips that it would be useful if the bridge knew if a scene was active.
iConnectHue is capable of detecting active scenes in certain cases, but this functionality is app based and therefore not usable with switches or other features that act independently.
Additionally, such a feature is rarely requested, therefore, we will focus our limited capacity on more requested features.

We understand your feedback, but for technical and constructive reasons, iConnectHue offers the functionality it does right now in its current design. Since we have our valid reasons for implementing things like they are right now, we do not view them as “Design fails”. We happily consider user feedback and new ideas for iConnectHue, but for your suggestions, our capabilities of changing things are limited.
After all, we can only operate within the limitations of the Hue-system.

We would be happy to hear from you, so we can have a closer look at those group problems! If not present any longer, please check if your review to reflects your current experiences with the latest version, should the error be fixed. Thank you!
