Notability: Notes, PDF 4+

Request to the developers

Dear Notability Team,
I have started using notability a lot in the last two semester. First of all let me thank you for the amazing job you have done with this app. I love using it. I has helped my studies tremendously.
I would also like to emphasis how much I appreciate you ‘fixing’ the highlighter too, so that is is now ‘behind’ the text.
On the other hand, there is one more way, I have in mind, how you could further improve user experience. I have noticed in the past, that most of my time is spent changing colors. What I also noticed, is that, the times I change colors are precisely not the times, when I could afford losing time. (I hope u can understand my last sentence :)) I am not going to lie, the solution I have in mind, is coming from one of your competitors. Regardless, I would like to ask you, if it would be possible for you, to add a 3 color ‘quick-switch’. (For both the pen and the highlighter) In my mind the user would be able to choose 3 colors (or more) to set to the top bar (where you can start your recordings). This would allow a quick switch.
Thanks for reading through. I hope you consider this idea and maybe next semester, all of us students can have an easier time.

Wanna learn from PDF efficiently? You have just found your new best buddy

I have been looking for an app to use it learning from PDF files. Checked the market and the played with some apps. This app exceeds my expectations with the “tape” tool. Clean UI, sophisticated toolbar, great features. And a must have feature seamless export and import, your data is NOT hostage. After getting familiar with the features of this app I knew it’s a must have. Although I love it I would not mind tape size of 1.5 (1 is too small and 2 is too big). Reveal all and hide all tape might be interesting for someone, just crossed my mind. Thanks for this amazing piece of software.

Unreliable UX

I started using Notability in early 2019, when it was a one time purchase and had much less features than it currently does. I used it for years in school and it helped me through the pandemic and numerous big exams for which I’m really grateful.
Lately though when I open the app some or all my notes (mostly the latest ones that I would actually want to use) are offloaded from my device and the app starts redownloading them - from oldest to newest - which means that I have to wait for my notes from years ago to download in order to use the one I created the day before. When the app works it usually works great but this bug - persistent for many many iterations of the software and not fixed with any of the updates in the last 2 years makes the app unreliable and frankly unusable. I tried turning off icloud turning on backup, turning off everything, somehow this issue pops up every so often.
Opening the app should not result in me waiting for upwards of 30 minutes to be able to use my own notes, sitting in a lecture not being able to take notes or just obliterating my workflow completely.

Please fix this issue, I don’t know much about programming but it seems that the developers were able to tackle much more difficult issues than this.
