Description
It’s easy with the IKEA Home smart 1 app and TRÅDFRI gateway. Use one setting for early morning lighting and music, another for late evenings and a third for cooking or working at home.
You can dim, turn off, turn on, change colours and switch from warm to cold light. Raise or lower blinds. Turn on your music – then turn it up, turn it down or pause it. And you can even control your air purifier to improve the air quality at home.
With the IKEA Home smart 1 app, you can also connect to Apple Home, Amazon Alexa or Google Home and control it all with your voice.
What you’ll get with the IKEA Home smart 1 app and TRÅDFRI gateway:

Multicunction shortcut buttons
A single shortcut button would be able to switch between three different scenes. First scene 1 short click Second scene with 2 quick clicks Third scene could be 1 long pressure These three different keystrokes are easy to distinguish and cannot be spoiled. It would also be good because of the lower cost, but it would be really important because of the much fewer buttons that are easier to use
Simple and super
Firts I was afraid because of all the horror stories written in the feedbacks. I always found a reason for not to buy a starter set...
Then I decided to give it a chance.
The setup was really simple and well described. The app is well organized, clean and simple as it should be. And most importantly, it works since day one, flawlessly. The HomeKit integration also.
I guess all the glitches have been fixed in the software since all the harsh reviews in the past.
It’s definitely worth to invest into the Trådfri stuff, especially when you start to compare the price tag of the biggest competitor. :)
Outlet HomeKit Support?
Dear IKEA!
I’m using two outlets and the app says that the switches are being updated, but they don’t get it, it’s loading for 2 hours now, I think it is just stuck. And also, when will the outlets support HomeKit? It’s very uncomfortable that they doesn’t support it yet, though you told us it will from the end of 2018. I can’t access them when I’m not at home, but the bulbs work fine. I’d like the same for the outlets too! The gateway freezes sometimes, and I have to pull the USB out from the charger and plug back in. Any solutions? Is there an ETA for the HomeKit support for outlets? Thank you!
