MACHINE LEARNING MAGIC
• Powered by Visipedia, Merlin Sound ID and Photo ID uses machine learning to identify birds in photos and sounds. Merlin learns to recognize bird species based on training sets of millions of photos and sounds collected by birders at eBird.org, archived in the Macaulay Library at the Cornell Lab of Ornithology.
• Merlin delivers the most accurate results thanks to experienced birders, who curate and annotate sightings, photos, and sounds, who are the true magic behind Merlin.

Ratings and Reviews
Absolutely fantastic
This is a super professional app for bird lovers, a must have. Works worldwide.
App works fast and flawless, has a huuuge database, includes very smart sound ID and picture ID, also an easy to use, well organized self-service wizard for identifying a bird you saw for half a second but already gone. 🙂
Highly customizeable filters for browsing content.
Nice touch that all your findings are recorded in the app for later use including gps location and date/time of spotting.
Cellular internet required on the field for sound or picture ID.
Highly recommended!
Awesome
This app is just awesome. It can extract the bird’s song even from a noisy background and identifies them instantly.
But what really blowed my mind is that it is able to identify more than one bird in once. It heard out a cuckoo that was far away from me and could barely hear.
My favorite app on my phone
Absolutely amazing, made me get into birds. It is extremely accurate and easy to use. Best app ever!
