Ratings and Reviews
Probably not what builds a great reputation...
The first mistake I made was to use my Win PC to download my photos from my Nikon.
The second, that I moved them instead of being healthy paranoid... and just copying first.
The third… well getting back to Mac, and purchasing Photo Recovery.
I thought, I’m careful enough… Downloaded the test version from the website, checked my SD card, … and started smiling when saw my ‘lost’ pictures as small thumbnails. Of course, no way to recover, this is just a demo, after all...
This smile was pretty short lived, as I decided to download full Photo Recovery, purchasing through the App Store… after all, that’s why the store exists.
Well, not really… After throwing 27 Euros out of the window, I found myself staring at a dialog box, that tells me there is no drive it could scan. And no option, no button… nothing to go further… What??? Just two minutes ago, I saw everything in the free version.
Brief abstract of a long story: Although the compatibility is declared as “OSX 10.6.6 or later”, there is some obscure reasoning in the long essay about incompatibilities… Despite the “10.6.6 or later statement”, is compatible only with 10.7!!!, … and you should go back to the site, and by a license there if you have 10.8, and… OMG! Is it seriuos? In 2014?
Ok, lets call this my forth mistake… After trying the trial, all I checked is the data sheet (10.6.6+), trusted my experience… (And yes, I did _not_ expect that the store bills for a different, medieval version of the same stuff…)
Maybe my fault. Maybe the website version works perfectly. I will never know, no way to fool myself for the same price once more.
An advice: If you did not read the essay yet, check your 10.6.6 OSX, … and leave quickly, its also 10.8+ :)
