Moving from Dropbox

Update: I found that the missing context menus makes this almost useless on iOS. What’s the point in the app if I can’t save files to it? For the time being I’m sending these via email and using my PC to save… With the windows desktop client out, I’m now piloting the move from Dropbox. So far very good, the only issue is the limited storage space (500GB) which isn’t enough. I’m hoping to have the option to upgrade to 2TB soon..

Update2: Thanks for the feedback: actually going through files does work but protonmail is hidden there by default, so I had to I hide it. It does the job just fine but absolutely not intuitive, I would have never figured it out myself. Upped rating to 4*.
As for the storage, the gap between 500G and 3TB is huge, and the family plan is 3x more expensive. Something in between would make sense.

Thank you for your review! We have shared your feedback with the team internally, in order to prioritize future improvements and implementations to the app. In the meantime, please note that you can upload files directly to Proton Drive via Files (opt to 'Save to Files' and browse for Proton Drive in the offered Locations). For more than 500GB of storage you can consider our family plan: https://proton.me/family. EDIT: Thank you for your updated review! If the Family plan is not a suitable option for you, you can also take a look at our Proton for Business plans. They can scale to any storage you require by purchasing additional users for your account: proton.me/business/plans.

need integration

Good direction, thanks for your services! As a PM Premium user I would completely ditch your competitor if there was a non-web version available for Windows/Mac and phones so it would be recognized as a seperate drive… Is something like that coming?

Developer Response ,

Thank you for your 5-star review! If you are referring to dedicated Proton Drive desktop clients, we're expecting our Windows app to be out of beta and available to all users very soon. As for our MacOS app, we'll start rolling out the beta test in the next few weeks. Keep an eye on our social channels for updates!

A joke?

Want to upload multiple files from the app or maybe a folder? Can’t. Alright, let’s transfer files using the Files app? It’ll fail at almost every other file (“Helper app error”). Fine, let’s go back to Proton Drive app. Oh look there’s a “retry” button! Nope, it just fails again. The app is unusable for almost every use case other than saving/transferring files one-by-one from inside the app itself. In the end, it’s easier for me to transfer the files to my computer and then upload them using the web application. Will update this review as time goes on.

Developer Response ,

Thank you for your feedback! Can you please advise us if the files you are attempting to upload are available locally on your device, or perhaps you are attempting to upload them from another cloud storage? If the latter is the case, please note that Proton Drive does not yet support direct integrations with third-party services, so you'll need to download the files to your device first.
