Learn to code at any age

Great coding apps for preschoolers, teens and grown-ups.

Coding may sound daunting but there are plenty of ways to get started and you don’t need to be a computer guru to learn to build an app or a website. We’ve picked out a few apps to help you – and your child – find your way.

Coding for young children

It’s never too early to begin. These are child-friendly apps filled with colourful puzzles, bitesize videos and cuddly characters, for even the youngest of learners. Your child will grasp the basics without having to write a line of code.

Apps such as Tinkerblocks may not look like coding, but they teach fundamentals through simple logic and images.

Coding for teens

For practice that doesn’t feel like homework, kick back with some video tutorials, educational games and interactive lessons. They’ll teach you all about the world’s most popular coding languages.

Coding for grown-ups

Maybe you want to create a website for your company – or a game for your kids. In either case, with a few apps (and an iPhone or iPad) you can learn the syntax, methods and best practices of coding languages in no time. And if you don’t know what any of that means, don’t worry. You will soon.
