Great games for controllers

Use your favourite console controller with your Mac.

Ready to take your gaming to the next level? Connect a wireless controller to your Mac!

You’ve got plenty of options, including PlayStation DualSense, PlayStation DualSense Edge, PlayStation DualShock 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox Adaptive, Xbox Elite 2, Xbox Wireless and MFi. In addition to making you quicker on the draw, a controller unlocks features like rumble feedback, custom button mapping and screen recording.

And with macOS Ventura, you can also use popular wired racing wheels, shifters and pedals, like the Logitech G920 and Logitech G29.

To pair a wireless controller, go to System Settings > Bluetooth. Then put your controller into pairing mode. Here’s how:

For PlayStation DualShock 4, hold the Share and PlayStation buttons until the light on the back of the controller starts blinking.

For PlayStation DualSense and DualSense Edge, hold the Create and PlayStation buttons until the light bar starts blinking.

For Xbox Series X|S, Adaptive, Elite 2 and Wireless, turn your controller on and press the pairing button until the Xbox symbol starts blinking.

For MFi, turn your controller on and press the pairing button until the light(s) on the front start blinking.

When your controller appears in the Devices list on your Mac, click Connect. That’s it!

Once a controller is connected, customise it in the Game Controllers section of System Settings.

In macOS Ventura’s Game Controllers settings, you can rebind buttons to perform different functions, create multiple settings profiles and customise actions like taking a screenshot and starting a screen recording.

Playing with a friend? Enable Buddy Controller mode to combine the input of two controllers, so one player can help the other.
